Success at Warwick

The beginners’ squad had their first taste of a regatta at Warwick at the weekend and it was a winning start for some. Everyone won at least one day and the new rowers 4+ beat Warwick to win the event. The crew was Matt Kamen, Shona Marsh, Iain Kefford, Steven Byford, Christopher Anton (c)

The club committee have decided on a new strategy to teach beginners and we will have decided to hold three learn to row courses throughout the year. The first one of these will start on Saturday 26th September at 1030am

26th – 30th July: Complete beginners

2nd – 6th August: Novice (previous experience needed)

The courses run from 10 am – 3 pm everyday at the cost of £50 per person for the week

Victory at Worcester regatta

Ali Stubbings and Lou Dixon won W.IM2.2x at Wrocester today with a very well steered performance. The W.IM3.4+ of Gemma Webb, Sarah Gregory, Emma Hughes, Amy Chambers, Alice Green (c) couldn’t shake off their slow start and lost by half a length to the eventual winners.

First win of the season

Richard Stratton and Andy Thorne achieved the club’s first win of the season in E2x at Leicester regatta
