Bedford Fours and Small Boats Head – April 2013
The last head race in the season for the senior women was Bedford Head. Again.
Into this we entered five women’s coxed fours across IM1, IM2 and IM3. In contrast to our previous attempt in February, the weather was very kind to us – a lovely 18 degrees with an interestingly gusty cross/tail wind.
The women’s IM1 coxed four really excelled themselves to put in their fastest ever time across the course – 07:17 – and win their category. This was also the fastest women’s coxed four time of the day, and would’ve also won the IM2 and IM3 categories!
All other fours put in great performances, showing consistency and endurance, as each of the five women raced four times!
The crews and results were:
07:17 WIM1 4+ S Tasha Scott, 3 Emma Tod, 2 Emma Raynor, B Lisa Meegan, C Silvia Breu (winners)
07:30 WIM2 4+ S Louise Lane, 3 Emma Tod, 2 Emma Raynor, B Lisa Meegan, C Tasha Scott (3rd+0:09)
07:32 WIM2 4+ S Tasha Scott, 3 Emma Tod, 2 Louise Lane, B Emma Raynor, C Silvia Breu (4th+0:11)
07:32 WIM3 4+ S Tasha Scott, 3 Emma Tod, 2 Louise Lane, B Lisa Meegan, C Silvia Breu (2nd+0:06)
07:34 WIM3 4+ S Emma Raynor, 3 Tasha Scott, 2 Louise Lane, B Lisa Meegan, C Silvia Breu (3rd+0:08)
Many thanks to Silvia Breu and Tasha Scott for coxing, and for the support from Roddie and Dave.
