Wallingford Regatta – May 2013

The first regatta of the season for the BRC Senior Women turned out to be a great, sunny day.

In the morning the newly bow-rigged WIM2 4+ had a straight final, in which they came fifth in a time of 07:58.8, which was 23 seconds off the winners, Lea.

Later on, the same four competed in a bulging WIM3 4+ category. A much stronger row put them second in their heat, in a time of 08:07.7. Unfortunately, the progression was winners and fastest two losers to final, so the girls narrowly missed out on their final despite being ranked 7th of 23 by time, and beating a qualifying crew. However, this was a great performance, and a good basis upon which to work on.

The crews were:

WIM2 4+ S Tasha Scott, 3 Emma Raynor, 2 Lisa Meegan, B Louise Lane, C Alex Thomas

WIM3 4+ S Tasha Scott, 3 Emma Raynor, 2 Lisa Meegan, B Louise Lane, C Alex Thomas

Many thanks to Alex for coxing, and for the support from Dave and Roddie.
